NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Garrett and I took the kids to New York at the first of June. It has taken me awhile to post because of Kennedy's birthday and we have been out of town. We had a great time. Garrett really wanted to take Dallin to Yankee Stadium since this is the last year before they are in the new stadium. Dallin may not remember it, but he can say he has been there and we took lots of pictures. We met a lot of people who were going to the games that were there for the same reason as us, they had to see Yankee Stadium before they tore it down. Suprisingly they were not even Yankee fans, just baseball fans. Luckily we are both. Yankee Stadium really is a cool place and watching the Yankees play there is awesome.

We did go to two Yankee games but we also did a ton of other things while in NYC. We shopped (of course), went to the Central Park Zoo, went to the 3 story Toys R Us store, saw Kung Fu Panda in Times Square and other touristy stuff. Garrett and I went to New York 5 years ago so we did not do all the tourist things, we did things the kids would more enjoy. The kids did great even taking the red eye flight there. It was a neat experience we had a really good time. It is a lengthy post, but I could not decide what pictures to put in and not put in and suprisingly I did not put a lot in.

The New Yankee Stadium

Jeter going up to bat!!

The Old Yankee Stadium

Kung Fu Panda (really a cute show)

Mickey Mantle's restaurant

Central Park Zoo

Dallin's rally cap, the Yankees seem to lose whenever we see them live. Garrett seems to think its me because they have not won a World Series since we have been married :), but he says that he would trade the Yankees winning to be married to me. How nice hah!! (That is our little joke)

We tried to get autographs, but they did not sign any. We will have to wait until Anaheim they always sign for us there.

The Toys R Us store. We spent forever ther and Dallin did not want to leave.

Yes, we did push the double stroller around Times Square and Manhattan. Our hotel was in the heart of Times Square so we walked everywhere and took the subway to the Bronx for the Yankees game. We got a lot of attention because of the kids. There were not many kids there but people were really friendly and cute to them. I am sure we will be back in a few years when the new stadium is opened.

Look Who Turned 1!!!

Kennedy turned one years old today!! Her birthday was on Father's Day this year so we celebrated her big day on Saturday. We swam and barbecued and played all day. She had a great day with many, many gifts from family. She would not cooperate with the camera however and I am not a great photographer so these are the best pictures we could get.

Kennedy has had a great firs year and has been a wonderful addition to our family and an answer to many, many prayers. At this point in her life she can:

  • Say Mommy, Daddy, Doey (Zoey our dog), Hi, No No No, Did it, ought-o and is working on others but not great yet.

  • Almost walking, she will stand up on her own for a few seconds

  • She hits when she gets mad it is kind of funny, but not really.

  • She is a great night sleeper and an okay napper.

  • She gives the best loves ever and gives you an open mouth kiss, puts her head on your shoulder and says "ohhhh".

  • She is very happy and independent, yet sweet and cuddly at the same time. It is great because Dallin was not and is not cuddly.

  • She still loves food and will eat pretty much everything.

  • She loves her binky.
  • She only has 2 teeth and is finally getting hair!! Yeah!!

  • She loves to be where the action is and gets sad when she's not.

This year has flown by and I cannot even believe that she is already one years old.

She loves all her toys!!!

----This was on Father's Day, Kennedy's actual birthday.
Happy Father's Day Gar, we love you too. We did celebrate her birthday on Saturday so that we could celebrate Father's Day with him.

I was feeling guilty for not blogging in awhile because friends and family have been asking me about pictures of the kids. Nothing has been going on lately so I did not think that I had really taken any pictures blog worthy. I downloaded my pictures today and was laughing so hard because I had taken pictures just really crazy pictures of Dallin. These pictures show candidly the personalilty of our little 4 year old.

Dallin found Garrett's baseball helmet from highschool and now everytime we go outside to pitch to him he has to put on dad's helmet. I truly never realized until having kids how important our examples to them are. He wants to be just like his dad and do everything he does.

We go to the 51's games alot. They are the triple A team for the Dodgers in Las Vegas. Dallin had to pose with the alien mascot.

Dallin had to have batting gloves to play baseball in because that is what "real" baseball players wear. He still has not taken them off except to eat and bathe.

On occasion he looks like this to go outside and ride bikes with his friends. He only rides his big wheel still and does not like his 2 wheeler. It was 90 degrees outside this day and he told me that he did not care if he was hot because he looked Cool.

Dallin likes to dress himself now and loves this shirt, He also thinks these sunglasses make him look cool.

He came downstairs the other day wearing my boots and posed like this and said "Mom take my picture" . So I did of course and now looking at it am greatful that I did. He is so crazy.

Kennedy sits on a blanket in the shade when Dallin and I play baseball during the day. She likes to pick up the phone and say "Hi". She also says "mommy", "daddy", and "zoey" (our dog). Those are what she says really well and she's working on others.

This is classic for Kennedy, except for the tears. She loves to eat!! She grabbed both crackers from my hand and put them in her mouth.

I guess I really should post more often and then they would not be soooo long:)

T-BALL

Garrett and I were a little worried when we put Dallin in T-Ball at 4 years old that he might get a little bored because it is not as fast paced as other little league sports like soccer. Boy were we wrong. This kid has an innate love for baseball. I am not exagerating when I say that that is all he does or want to do right now. He does not ever want to play with toys or anything of that nature. We are either out in the circle letting him hit off his Tee or pitching to him and chasing the balls down for him ,or we are inside pitching to him and letting him hit. Occasionally we play catch too. We have a really soft squishy ball to play with inside. It is hilarious that he is so obsessed. He does have baseball genes from both sides of the family so I guess he is blessed or cursed with the love. I thought he would be running around in the outfield, but he sits there and puts his mitt on his knee and gets ready every time the other team is up to bat. It is the cutest thing ever when they are so young. Any little boy in a baseball uniform is darling, but even more when it is your little boy.

The first game he wore his uniform normal, and then we watched the Yankee game that week and now he wears his pants and socks up like A-Rod. Without any ideas from his Yankee loving dad. He also had to go buy batting gloves because that is what the real baseball players wear.

Happy Spring and Easter

I love Easter because it means spring and warm weather. But I also love Easter traditions. Growing up we always got something new for church and I have done that with my kids. We also do the annual Easter Egg Hunt, (or go find bags of candy with your sticker on it). And Garrett's family always have done an egg roll which we now do. It is really fun to roll the eggs and see which one breaks. It is amazing to me that only one egg breaks. Kennedy just hung out and played with plastic eggs. She was amazed by them.

We also went to an egg hunt at the park with our ward. It was total chaos, but the kids had a blast.

Dallin has been outside non-stop since the warm weather hit. It is perfect right now in the mid 70s. We have to take advantage of it before it gets too hot. Dallin started T-ball and wants to play every single day. This kid needs no pushing to love baseball (which makes his dad very happy). He has baseball genes coming from both sides. Dallin has organized the kids in our circle to play baseball instead of ride bikes what they usually did. He is the youngest kid out there and shows them what to do and how to do it and where to stand. It is hilarious. He can be a little bossy we're working on that. :)

Just a cute picture of Kennedy.

DALLLIN IS 4!!!!

January 28th

Dallin had a great 4th Birthday!!
It started early as our days always

do with him. We let him open some presents in the morning and the rest at night since Garrett had to work all day. We played waiting for dad to get home. Dallin helped me make his cake, he loved doing the mixer and my kitchen had proof of that.

We took Dallin to Chuck-e-Cheese that night to party. We had a great time. We were there for hours. We got extra tokens because they forgot our pizza and Garrett and I were playing skee ball and basketball so we did not stay all night. Dallin just could not leave if we still had tokens to play games.

Dallin was "a little shy of Chuck-e-Cheese" as he would say. I have no idea why so this is a very forced picture to say the least.

We finally made it home way after bedtime. To still open presents and have cake and ice cream. Dallin is very spoiled by us, his granparents and aunts and uncles. You would have seriously thought it was Christmas at our house. Garrett and I did not have to buy him anything and he would not have noticed. But he had a great birthday.

He ordered white cake with oreo frosting. That is why it is so boring. I did my best and but you can't dress that up too much. Nothing like cake and ice cream 5 minutes before bed.

This is Dallin riding his bike the next day. He thinks that 4 is the magical number and he can do everything that big people do because he is 4.
