It is Fine to be Nine!!!

Dallin had a great 9th birthday!  He got a desk that he has been asking for forever (that I bought white with nail polish all over it and sanded it and painted it - pictures later), a new catchers bag for all his gear that has wheels.  The poor kids has one without wheels and the thing is bigger than him :)  He also got Nike Free shoes that he wanted, Nike Elite socks, Clothes and itunes, Legos, Nerf Guns, desk accessories gift cards and Minecraft for the computer.  He has a lot of family and friends that love him.

Yes we were up bright and early to open presents before school!

He ordered a chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting and oreos.  I found this recipe and it was good.  He even wanted Rocky Road ice cream.  He is his dads kid!

Dallin wanted me to make his birthday dinner the day before his birthday and go out on his birthday.  So I made London Broil, twice baked potatoes with lettuce and an orange per his request :)  Then on his birthday we took his baseball friends Lucas and Cole to dinner at Cici's Pizza. There is nothing better I guess to 9 year old boys than all you can eat pizza!

All decked out in his Nike Elites and Frees!

Pinewood Derby 2013!

Garrett and Dallin pulled off another pinewood derby car!  Garrett told Dallin not to expect his car to make it to the finals like it did last year.  He told him that was a fluke.  But Dallin was still hoping.  And to all our surprise his car "The Eliminator" made it to the finals :)  Dallin said "see thats why you don't listen to your dad all the time"!  Garrett and Dallin just did the car the night before where as most people work on theirs for weeks and even longer.  He was proud of his car and to make the finals.  Two of his best friends got first and third overall!!!

Waiting for the derby to start

Camden wanted his picture taken too!!

The backs of the cute boys heads.  I could not resist.

Dallin, Matthew Edington, and Jacob Lacey

Camded wanted in on the action of the front row!

All 4 of the boys from our ward made it to the finals!

Matthew got 1st overall and Jacob got 3rd!

The Tortoise and the Hare....

Dallin and Kennedy auditioned for the school play and both got parts in the play!!!  Dallin was Guido the Stagehand, and Kennedy was part of the Curly Hare fan club.  Dallin had several lines and Kennedy had a few songs to learn.  They did a great job and worked really hard.  They had practices everyday from 2:15 to 7:00 for a week and the show was on that Saturday.  Mizzoula Theatre Company does a great job and puts on a fabulous show.  Dallin and Kennedy had a blast and definitely will try out again next year.
