Halloween 2012

Halloween as always was a crazy but good time.  Dallin changed his costume last minute.  He wanted to be a dead baseball player, but that would not work so well for school because he couldn't paint his face.  So he went with Harry Potter instead.  He made a pretty good Harry too!

We fit in pictures into our hectic schedule.  But overall had a great time.  We had our ward trunk-or-treat on Tuesday night and then the kids dressed up for school on Halloween the next day.  We went with Lisa and kids to The District early trick-or-treating before the crowds got crazy.  It was really fun.  We went to dinner to Pei Wei and the kids ate free which was a bonus for us :)  The trick-or-treated down Dawson and Lisa's street and then were done and wanted to go home and trade candy!!

Camden said "Dallin, I think I want to hold you hand"  It was so cute.  

2012 Family Pics

My mom was in town over labor day.  Pictures yet to come :)  I have never said that I am the fastest blogger.  But while she was here I sprung on Garrett that we should get family pictures because I do not know when else we would do them.  I can set up the camera and get it ready to go and my mom just has to push the shutter!  She did a great job.  These pictures were spur of the moment pictures but turned out all right.  Camden was not so cooperative, but what else can you expect out of a stubborn 3 year old.  :) Its a good thing he is so cute most of the time!

Back To School

After all is said and done I can say that back to school was successful.  Even if I earned the worst mom of the year award for having my kids late to the first day.  I over loaded myself by making a special breakfast and did not plan for as much extra time as I needed to get a sleepy kindergartener ready.  But they were smiling when they got home and have not mentioned it so I think all is forgotten and they had a great day!! Phew!

Even though she was sleepy to start Kennedy was thrilled to be starting kindergarten!  We did not even have a sleepy problem the 2nd day.  She loves her teacher and that Lex is in her class.  She is so happy to finally be going to Dallin's school.

Dallin has an awesome teacher too.  Mr. Paris.  He has good friends in his class and raved about his day.  He is was the most worried about being late because he was so apprehensive about starting school.  But he had a great day and said he knew everyone in his class.  He is excited for the new year!

Kennedy and Lex came out of the kindergarten doors holding hands.  They are BFFs at school.  I asked Kennedy the second day if she made any new friends and she said "Kind of Cooper, but me and Lex just played together".  Lisa and I had to prearrange play dates for certain days because they would ask every day if we didn't :)

Oceanside 2012 - Day 2

We played and played and played at the beach!! My kids had so much fun they are counting the days to go back and we don't even have a trip planned :)  They swam, body surfed, looked for fish and went clear out as far as Garrett.  They loved the water.  I was surprised, because I don't love California water (its too cold for me).  Camden did not love the water.  He wanted to be with them so we would try and then come back because he said the wind (or waves) was getting him!

Sand Gloves!

No we did not build that sand castle.  Our was much smaller!  But they loved this one.

I do not know how this happened.

He kept himself busy on the beach with sand and baseball he couldn't have been happier!

Of course someone had to be buried in the sand!

Camden thought he would try for all of one second.  Then he did not like it so much!

Our favorite treat in oceanside.  Rite Aid ice cream.  It is a tradition of Mike and Linda's that we have carried on every time that we are there :)
